The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, has stated that the command has invited a suspected member of the All Progressives Congress who threatened voters to vote the APC in the 2023 general elections.
He stated this while reacting to the viral audio clip of the statement through his official Twitter account on Wednesday.
In the viral audio which was obtained by Premium Politics, the suspected APC man partly stated, “What you are going to do because I know that some of you may not be voting here and would be voting in different places.
“For you to continue doing business here, we must see who you are voting for.
“And when you are voting, snap the party you are voting for. If we do not see APC there, you are in trouble and we would fight”.
Addressing the audio, the Lagos police chief stated that the suspected man in the audio had been invited for further investigation.
“We work with facts, not emotions, hearsay, rumour or gossip.
“Everyone screamed it was a Baale. Our painstaking investigation suggested it was the Council Secretary.
“We already sent out an invitation (even before a video emerged). He is expected at the State Headquarters today”, he tweeted.
