The Federal Government has promised to resume the road project connecting Abuja, Kaduna and Zaria.
This was disclosed on Thursday by the Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, during a courtesy visit to the Deputy Governor, Dr. Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe, at the Sir Kashim Ibrahim House in Kaduna.
The state Governor, Uba Sani, made this known in a statement via his X handle on Friday, sharing pictures from the visit.
The statement read, “The Kaduna State Government has expressed satisfaction with the resumption of the Abuja-Kaduna-Zaria Road project, appealing to the Federal Ministry of Works to expedite the completion of the project to improve motorists’ security.
“The Deputy Governor, Dr. Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe disclosed this on Thursday, 24th August 2023, during a courtesy visit by the Minister for Works, Mr. Nweze David Umahi, at the Sir Kashim Ibrahim House in Kaduna.
“The Deputy Governor told the visiting Minister that the Govt and people of Kaduna State are appealing to him during his second phase visit, to consider and ensure completion of the Easten Bypass- which was commenced in 2002, reviewed in 2017 & had a completion dateline of 2021.”
