The Presidential candidate of the Action Alliance Congress at the last presidential election, Omoyele Sowore, had on Monday alleged that some wealthy benefited from the fuel subsidy scam, under the administration of the immediate past President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (ed.).
Sowore, who disclosed this through his Twitter handle on Monday afternoon, alleged that the Chairman of the Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote received over N16 trillion in subsidies under the former president.
The convener of the ‘Revolution now,’ who stated that another 138 so-called business people also benefited N5.4 trillion in subsidies from, AMCON, noted that the bogus amount was paid amidst the high exchange rate.
Explaining further, he alleged that the governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele gave out bogus loans, worth N11 trillion to the rich and politically connected Nigerians.
