The Presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, has reacted to the peace accord pact he signed, alongside other presidential aspirants of all the political parties, participating in the coming Saturday Presidential election in Nigeria.
Alhaji Atiku, who was at the peace accord center in Abuja today, Wednesday February 22, 2023, alongside other contestants for the coming Saturday Presidential election in Nigeria, signed the peace pact accord as a sign of commitment to a free and fair election on Saturday.
The 2023 Presidential and national assembly election will be holding on Saturday, throughout all the states in Nigeria, and every eligible voter will be choosing their candidate of choice, who will be controlling the affairs of country, for the next four years.
Meanwhile, peace pact accord, started towards the 2015 general elections in Nigeria and it has since become a tradition during elections in the country, whereby, candidate and parties participating in an election will be called to sign against any form of violence during the election.
However, today’s was the last peace pact accord they will be signing for the coming 2023 presidential election so, all the stakeholders were present in Abuja to participate in it.
While expressing his happiness after the exercise, Alhaji Atiku wrote, “I am happy to join presidential candidates from other political parties to sign the Peace Accord. This was at the instance of the National Peace Committee in the presence of world leaders and friends of Nigeria.”
