Yobe State workers have begun receiving the new minimum wage of N70,000, as promised by Governor Mai Mala Buni.
The payment started with the December salaries, marking a significant development for the state’s workforce.
The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Digital and Strategic Communication, Yusuf Ali, announced this milestone in a post on his Facebook page.
Ali shared that workers began receiving their December salary alerts on Thursday under the newly approved minimum wage structure.
He stated: “The commencement of the payment of the minimum wage is yet another significant milestone for the state and a testament to the commitment of Governor Mai Mala Buni to the welfare of the state workforce.
“No doubt, the minimum wage will have a positive impact on the lives of Yobe State civil servants, and their families.
“Some of the key benefits among others include: improved living standards, enhanced morals and economic boosts,” Yusuf posted.
