Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma, has assured residents of significant progress and development in all parts of the state in 2025.
He made the pledge in his New Year message, emphasising that his administration’s commitment to industrialisation and infrastructure will drive economic growth.
Governor Uzodimma expressed optimism that Imo State will experience an economic boom this year due to the groundwork already laid by his administration. Reflecting on the state’s economic trajectory, he stated, “With the faithful implementation of the 2025 budget of N807 billion, I would have set Imo on an irreversible path of sustainable development.”
He described the budget as “a clear statement of my determination to vigorously pursue the industrialisation of the state by strengthening our infrastructure.”
The governor reaffirmed his dedication to completing key projects initiated in the previous year, including the Assumpta Flyover, the Owerri-Umuahia Road, and efforts to provide uninterrupted power supply. He also pledged renewed support for communities across the state, stating, “The communities in the state will experience renewed vitality as my administration will assist them in implementing various projects.”
Uzodimma urged residents to support the administration and rededicate themselves to the service of the state. He encouraged Imo citizens to foster love and unity, saying, “Avoid negative tendencies that hinder the spirit of togetherness needed to foster the growth and development of the state.”
He also called on citizens to reaffirm their hope for a better future, asserting that Nigerians will overcome the current economic challenges if they maintain faith in God.
Highlighting the role of local governance, the governor expressed confidence in the newly democratised local governments, stating that they will assist communities in achieving rapid development.
For civil servants and pensioners, Uzodimma pledged sustainable payment of salaries, pensions, and gratuities, aiming to improve their quality of life.
The governor reiterated his commitment to serving Imo State diligently and honestly, vowing to justify the trust reposed in him through his reelection. He charged members of the Executive Council to redouble their efforts, warning against complacency and corruption.
“This year, 2025, is a defining year for all of us to prove our mettle in serving the people of the state,” Uzodimma declared. “Laxity and corruption will not be tolerated. Let it be clear that those called to serve Imo State in my administration must either serve with dignity and integrity or face the consequences.”
With these assurances, Governor Uzodimma has set an ambitious agenda for Imo State, aiming to achieve widespread economic growth, infrastructural development, and improved governance in 2025.
