Austin Umahi, Ebonyi State Governor David Umahi’s younger brother, has been declared the winner of the All Progressive Congress’ Ebonyi South senatorial zone’s primary election on Saturday.

It was reported that Austin defeated Mrs Ann Agom-Eze at the party’s primary, which was held at Afikpo North local government area.

The states senatorial primary election happened in the Afikpo North Local Government Area of the state, and the results showed that Austin beat his rival with 279 votes to 5 with a total vote of 284.

According to Daily Post, Ann Agom-Eze, a former woman leader of the party and a founding member of the APC in Ebonyi, allegedly contested against the consensus order of the state governor.

Governor Umahi’s brother belongs to the new APC while Agom-Eze belongs to the old APC led by the former chairman of Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission, Chief Elias Mbam.
