Trump supporter Elon Musk offers US voters $47

U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. -- Tesla Inc. Chief Executive Officer Elon Musk speaks with Lt. Gen. Richard Clark, Superintendent of the U.S. Air Force Academy, during the Ira C. The CEO of Tesla, Elon Musk, is offering a financial incentive to registered voters in the United States who refer others to sign a petition supporting the First and Second Amendments.

The petition, launched by Musk’s Elon’s America PAC, aims to gather one million signatures from voters in key swing states, including Pennsylvania, Georgia, Nevada, Arizona, Michigan, Wisconsin, and North Carolina, ahead of the US election.

The petition read, “By signing below, I am pledging my support for the First and Second Amendments,” which represent the rights to free speech and the right to bear arms.

Participants will receive $47 for each registered voter they refer who signs the petition, with the deadline to participate being October 21.

Musk’s initiative has sparked attention, especially given his involvement in the 2024 United States Presidential race.

As a key figure supporting Donald Trump, Musk has also joined him on stage during a recent campaign rally in Pennsylvania.

It’s worth noting that while US federal law prohibits exchanging money for registering to vote in federal elections, financial incentives like this one are allowed.

This isn’t Musk’s first foray into funding political groups, having donated around $60 million to Republican-based groups and causes in the past.
