President Bola Tinubu is scheduled to meet with the President of the People’s Republic of China in Beijing by the first week of September, according to presidential spokesman, Chief Ajuri Ngelale.
Although a specific departure date has not been announced, Chief Ngelale revealed that President Tinubu will engage in a series of meetings with his Chinese counterpart and 10 CEOs of major corporations to promote Nigeria’s economic interests.
During the visit, President Tinubu will engage in bilateral agreements and sign Memoranda of Understanding to deepen cooperation in various sectors, including the green economy, blue economic development, and national planning cooperation, among others. Issues of national, regional, and international security will also be part of the discussions.
Additionally, President Tinubu will address concerns regarding the completion of the Abuja to Ibadan segment of the Lagos-Kaduna standard railway. Other areas of focus will include information technology, refining, oil and gas, and satellite technology. Chief Ngelale promised to provide more details later.
