President Bola Tinubu is set to attend the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week 2025, scheduled to take place from January 12 to 18.
The President will depart Abuja on Saturday, January 11, 2025, according to a statement issued by his media aide, Bayo Onanuga.
The summit, which will be held in the emirate of Abu Dhabi, has been organized at the invitation of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates. Onanuga explained that the event aims to bring together world leaders to accelerate sustainable development and socio-economic progress.
Themed “The Nexus of Next; Supercharging Sustainable Progress,” the summit will provide a platform for policymakers, business leaders, and civil society to explore strategies for accelerating the transition to a sustainable economy and fostering a new era of prosperity globally.
ADSW, which has been held annually for over 15 years, celebrates the power of collaboration and serves as a global platform for addressing global challenges and driving growth. The event has led to high-value agreements and strategic partnerships between governments, industry leaders, and clean energy pioneers, advancing the global sustainability agenda.
At the summit, President Tinubu is expected to highlight his administration’s reforms, including those focused on energy security, transportation, public health, and economic development. The Nigerian leader will also engage with the leadership of the UAE to discuss bilateral issues.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, and other senior government officials will accompany President Tinubu to the event.
