The leader of the Disciples of Jagaban and Chieftain of the All Progressive Congress, Abdulhakeem Adegoke Alawuje, has stated that President Bola Tinubu is more focused on ensuring the security, peace, and unity of Nigeria than his political ambition for a second term in 2027.
Alawuje, in a statement on Saturday, expressed concern over divisive tendencies among the political class and emphasized the need for collective support for President Tinubu’s efforts towards a better nation.
He noted that while some individuals prioritize personal political interests, others work towards the collective success of the country.
Alawuje defended President Tinubu’s policies, stating they are necessary to root out corruption, even if they cause temporary hardship.
He urged citizens to discredit baseless accusations against the president and recognize his efforts to build a reliable future for Nigerians, according to TheSun.
The statement emphasized the importance of valuing permanent solutions over immediate fixes and commended President Tinubu’s commitment to building a lasting structure for Nigeria’s liberation.
“When you look directly into President Tinubu’s face, you don’t see traces of 2027—there’s no premature ambition for a second term. Instead, what you see is a leader singularly focused on rescuing Nigerians from the grip of corrupt elites. This is why he remains undeterred, even when it means stepping on the toes of some powerful mafias across the country.
“The task before him is not easy. It is our collective responsibility to ensure the continuity of President Tinubu’s good work, even as we endure the painful policies introduced to cripple the enemies of our country. These policies, though painful, are necessary to root out the deep-seated corruption that has plagued our nation. However, we must acknowledge that these measures might also inadvertently affect some of the masses.
“But let’s reflect: What would President Tinubu gain from creating unwarranted hardship for the very people who made him president? The truth is that while some understand the president’s intentions, others believe these policies are directly targeting them and their businesses. This misunderstanding has fueled opposition narratives that the president is against the people, but nothing could be further from the truth.
“It’s important to clarify that President Tinubu’s aspiration is to secure your future comfort and the stability of your businesses. But achieving this requires hard decisions, akin to spreading rice on the ground to pick out the stones. There is no easier way to separate the good from the bad without disrupting the status quo.
“The unfair and fabricated accusations circulating in the public domain, and the baseless allegations trending on social media against President Tinubu, must not go unchallenged. As supporters of truth and progress, we must speak out against these lies and work tirelessly to correct them.
“It is imperative to recognize that Nigerian youths are not fully aware of the reliable future that President Tinubu is trying to build for them. The opposition has clouded their senses with misinformation, and we must work to bring them closer to the reality of today. The Disciples of Jagaban, a prominent Tinubu support group, has urged citizens, especially the youth and the masses, to discredit these baseless accusations.
“President Tinubu is not interested in the wealth of Nigeria for personal gain. His mission is to block those who seek to acquire this wealth through unscrupulous means. Unfortunately, some desperate, power-hungry individuals are attempting to paint Tinubu as an enemy of Nigeria, a narrative that is far from the truth.
“This effort to disconnect President Tinubu from his supporters across the country goes beyond mere politics. It is an attack on truth and progress. Now is the time for those who know the truth to propagate it, defend it, fight for it, and be ready to sacrifice everything, including their lives, to protect it. These emissaries of falsehood are trying to infect the public with a political virus ahead of 2027, but we must not allow them to succeed.
“If not for those of us who believe in the continuity of this gospel truth, who understand the value of the positive changes being pursued, we might have already fallen into the hands of these miscreant politicians who try to set us against our beloved principal daily.
“Nigerians must start valuing and respecting permanent solutions, as opposed to unreliable, immediate fixes that crumble in difficult times. President Tinubu is not a perfect man—do not misquote me—but he is striving to build a lasting structure, an everlasting solution, and permanent liberation for the Federal Republic of Nigeria and all its good citizens.
“In these challenging times, let us remain steadfast in our support for the truth, and in our commitment to the future that President Tinubu is working to secure for all Nigerians”. The statement said.
