The Minister of Steel Development, Prince Shuaibu Abubakar Audu, has extended his warm congratulations to Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, following the Supreme Court’s ruling affirming his election victory.
In a statement, Prince Audu hailed the judgment as a triumph for democracy and a validation of the electoral process in Kogi State.
He emphasized that the ruling reflects the true will of the people and upholds the principles of free, fair, and credible elections, according to Independent.
Prince Audu, who played a key role in the APC governorship campaign, expressed confidence in the Supreme Court’s decision and called for unity among Kogi State residents.
He urged all Kogites to set aside political differences and work together for the state’s betterment.
The Minister also advised APC supporters to celebrate with caution, avoiding actions that might provoke opposition party members.
He emphasized that Kogites are united as brothers and sisters, and the focus should now be on collective progress.
The Supreme Court’s judgment has brought an end to months of political uncertainty in Kogi State, allowing Governor Ododo to focus on delivering on his campaign promises and leading the state towards growth and development.
“Today is indeed a remarkable day for the people of Kogi State and for our great party, the APC, as we celebrate this landmark judgement of the Supreme Court affirming His Excellency, Gov. Ahmed Usman Ododo, as the winner of the November 11, 2023 governorship elections in Kogi State,” Prince Audu stated. “As Director General of the Campaign Council, I knew this day would come because it was an election that was free, fair, credible, and a true reflection of the will of the majority of Kogites.
“The elections and judicial proceedings are now over; let us all bury the hatchets and forge ahead as one people. I urge all Kogites, irrespective of our political inclinations, creed, or ethnic and religious leanings, to come together and accept the judgment of the Supreme Court. Let us all work together on building a better, more peaceful, and prosperous Kogi State,”he said.
