Social critic Aisha Yesufu has criticized President Bola Tinubu over the recent deadly stampedes during palliative distribution events, accusing him of turning Nigeria into a “massive grave.”
Her comments on X come after multiple incidents in which Nigerians lost their lives while scrambling for food aid.
In Anambra State, at least 20 people were killed in a stampede during a palliative distribution in the Okija community.
A similar tragedy occurred in the Federal Capital Territory, where several people died during a food distribution at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Abuja. Additionally, over 35 people, mostly children, were killed in Ibadan, Oyo State, in another stampede while seeking food items.
In response to these tragic events, Yesufu condemned the government’s handling of the situation, expressing her belief that the country is being mismanaged.
She accused the government of turning Nigeria into a place of widespread suffering and death, further highlighting the lack of effective leadership in addressing the needs of the people.
She said: “Godswill Akpabio will dare come and tell us that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has transformed Abuja and other Nigerian cities to London.
“Tinubu has turned the whole of Nigeria into a massive grave.”
