Vice President Kashim Shettima has returned to Abuja after attending the opening ceremony of the International Exhibition of Extractive and Energy Resources 2024 conference in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire.
The event, held at the Abidjan Exhibition Centre, is an international gathering organized by the Government of Côte d’Ivoire.
It focuses on policies and strategies aimed at the sustainable development of the extractive and energy industries.
Shettima’s visit to Côte d’Ivoire was made at the invitation of Vice President Tiémoko Meyliet Koné.
His trip coincided with the announcement of President Bola Tinubu’s travel plans to France.
The Presidency had announced earlier in the week that President Tinubu would depart Abuja on Wednesday for a state visit to France, following an invitation from French President Emmanuel Macron.
As of now, President Tinubu has yet to return from the trip.
