Vice President Kashim Shettima has successfully completed the lesser hajj (Umrah) at the Holy Mosque of Makkah (Masjid al-Haram) in Saudi Arabia. During the spiritual exercise, he prayed for the peace, stability, and prosperity of Nigeria.
While at the holy site in Makkah on Wednesday, the Vice President prayed for divine guidance and intervention for Nigeria’s leadership and citizens. He called for peace to prevail across the country and for social harmony to be restored.
In addition, Vice President Shettima sought divine wisdom and patience for Nigeria’s leaders at all levels of government, hoping they would govern with generosity and in the spirit of the teachings of Prophet Muhammad.
Shettima also prayed for Nigeria to be blessed with the wisdom necessary to govern effectively, ensuring peace, tranquility, and prosperity for the nation.
Meanwhile, the Vice President’s scheduled bilateral meeting with the President of the Islamic Development Bank in Jeddah has been postponed to a later date. Shettima is expected to return to Nigeria tomorrow.
Before traveling to Saudi Arabia for the Umrah, the Vice President had represented President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, at the commissioning of a $315 million oil production and storage facility owned by Oriental Energy Limited.
“Our prayer is for peace to prevail in our land. May Allah grant our land peace and social harmony,” the Vice President said.
He also sought divine attributes for Nigeria’s leaders praying, “May Allah grant our leaders, from the President down to our local councillors wisdom , patience and the generosity of Muhammad Rasulullah in all their dealings”.
The Vice President continued his supplications: “May Allah grant us the wisdom to rule our nation well and to govern our people well.”
“Let there be peace, tranquility and prosperity in our nation. This is our prayer and Insha’ Allah, our prayers will be answered by Allah.”
