The Nigerian Senate is mourning the loss of Senator Ifeanyi Ubah, who passed away on Saturday in London at the age of 52.
Ubah, a prominent figure in both business and politics, was the CEO of Capital Oil and represented the Anambra South Senatorial District.
Senate spokesperson Yemi Adaramodu confirmed the news, saying, “It is with deep sorrow and profound regret that we announce the passing of our esteemed colleague, Senator Ifeanyi Ubah. His untimely departure is a significant loss to the Senate, his community, and the nation.”
Adaramodu praised Ubah’s dedication to the development of Anambra and Nigeria, highlighting his role in fostering economic growth and job creation.
He added, “Throughout his tenure, Senator Ubah demonstrated unwavering dedication to progress and development.
“He was a beacon of hope and a champion of economic empowerment.”
Senate President Godswill Akpabio expressed his condolences, noting Ubah’s passionate legislative work and the lasting impact of his contributions.
Akpabio remarked, “Senator Ifeanyi Ubah was a dedicated legislator whose work has left an indelible mark on our nation.
“He will be greatly missed by all who knew and worked with him.”
Ubah leaves behind a legacy of service and dedication that will continue to inspire many. He was initially elected under the Young Peoples Party and later defected to the All Progressives Congress.
