The Senate held a Valedictory Session on Wednesday for Senator Monday Okpebholo, who represented Edo Central Senatorial District, following his election as the Governor of Edo State.
Senator Okpebholo, who served as a member of the 10th Senate (2023-2024), was elected as governor in September 2024.
He won the election by securing 291,667 votes, defeating his closest rival, Mr. Asue Ighodalo of the Peoples Democratic Party, who garnered 247,274 votes. Ighodalo won in 7 of the 18 local government areas of the state.
Olumide Akpata, the candidate from the Labour Party, finished in third place with 22,763 votes.
