Former National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Uche Secondus, has expressed his strong backing for Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, urging him to remain resilient in the face of political challenges.
Speaking at the commissioning of the Bori Town Internal Roads project in Khana Local Government Area, Secondus praised Fubara’s leadership, highlighting his humility, integrity, and dedication to service. He commended the governor for his efforts in transforming the region, especially through the Urban Renewal Policy, aimed at developing key cities across the state.
Secondus emphasized that the newly constructed roads represented a significant achievement for the community, illustrating the positive impact of leadership grounded in respect for others and a commitment to progress. He further acknowledged Fubara’s calm and resolute approach to governance, which, he believes, positions him well to overcome any political pressure.
The former PDP leader assured the governor of his victory over adversaries, stressing that true leadership is supported by the trust and respect of the people, which Fubara has consistently demonstrated.
Governor Fubara, in his address, reaffirmed his dedication to the development of the Rivers South-East Senatorial District. He noted that the completion of 14 kilometers of roads covering 23 streets in Bori Town marked just the beginning of a broader urban transformation initiative.
The governor emphasized that the project was not about individual credit, but about the people of Khana and the long-term development of the region. He also announced that the second phase of the project was already in the works.
In addition, Governor Fubara highlighted the importance of unity and collaboration among the people, urging them to embrace openness and collective efforts as essential for achieving sustainable development. He called for a focus on community progress, stressing that development thrives when people work together.
“For my people, this road is a blessing we must own and maintain. It shows what leadership rooted in humility and respect for elders can achieve,” Secondus said.
Secondus reassured Fubara of victory over his adversaries, adding, “Be strong and courageous. You will overcome your enemies. Power comes from God, and He has entrusted you with this mandate. The love and respect you show for the people will always stand as your testament.”
“This project isn’t about who started it; it’s about the people of Khana and the future of this Senatorial District. We are laying the foundation for sustainable growth, and I assure you, the second phase is on the way,” Fubara said.
” Development thrives when people come together. Let us embrace unity and openness for the progress of our communities,” he added.
