The Resident electoral Commissioner, Independent National Electoral Commission, Akwa Ibom State, Mike Igini has faulted the inability of political structures to complement the consistency improvements been effected by the electoral body in Nigeria.

Speaking on Channels TV on Tuesday, Igini stated that the electoral body has constantly made sure that each election comes with an improvement, one which he described as continued to ensure more credibility with the conduct of elections in Nigeria.

“INEC is the most innovative public service agency in Nigeria, there has been a massive improvement over the years since the days of Jega to this present moment ” he stated.

However, he stated that the body and Its various improvement is constantly marred by the inability of the nation’s political system to complement the positive improvement of the electoral body.

“Our political structures have failed to complement the various improvement offered by us, nonetheless recent elections in Nigeria has shown a reduction in opportunistic behaviour which are been exhibited from our political parties ” he added.
