The Peoples Democratic Party State Youths Forum has expressed strong optimism regarding the party’s prospects in the 2027 general elections.
The forum, which consists of leaders from the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, made the declaration on Wednesday during a news briefing following a condolence visit to Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed.
The Chairman of the forum and Gombe State PDP Youth Leader, Mr. Jamilu Karshingi, conveyed the party’s confidence, stating that they were hopeful of taking over power in 2027.
“APC has failed and plunged Nigerians into abject misery, insecurity and other predicaments,” Karshingi remarked.
He further explained that the forum’s optimism was driven by what they perceived as the failures of the ruling All Progressives Congress. He emphasized that the PDP had a clear plan for the future, which was backed by the leadership of Governor Mohammed and other PDP governors.
“With the party’s strong blueprint and the leadership of Gov. Mohammed and other PDP governors, the youth leaders believe that the PDP is poised to take over power and bring about positive change,” Karshingi added.
Karshingi also praised Governor Mohammed’s leadership style, as well as his developmental projects in Bauchi State, which he described as essential for the nation’s progress.
“We also commended the party’s strong blueprint, which would serve as equipment to address the numerous challenges confronting the country,” he said.
The forum expressed its full support for Governor Mohammed and other PDP governors, citing their leadership styles and commitment to youth empowerment as reasons for their backing.
“We are solidly behind Gov. Mohammed and other PDP governors, and believe in their ability to lead the country to greatness,” Karshingi affirmed.
Brown Boniface, the PDP Youth Leader from Cross River State, also voiced strong support for the party’s vision.
“The narrative will be changed positively when the PDP takes over in 2027,” Boniface stated.
Babangida Maliya, the Bauchi PDP Youth Leader, also took the opportunity to express gratitude to Governor Mohammed for appointing young people to key positions in his administration.
“We always respect and salute Gov. Mohammed for giving young people important positions in his government. They are representing the youth very well,” Maliya said.
