Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Tambuwal, has stepped down for former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar in the ongoing presidential primary of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party.
The governor, who had also obtained the N40m presidential nomination form of the PDP made his withdrawal known on Saturday night at the MKO Abiola Stadium, the venue of the primary in Abuja.
Premium Politics had earlier reported that two of the 15 presidential aspirants cleared by the PDP withdrew days to the primary, citing different reasons including money politics.
Former governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi, pulled out and joined the Labour Party while business mogul, Mohammed Hayatudeen, also withdrew from the race.
