The Edo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party has condemned the recent attack on the people of Okpekpe community in Etsako East Local Government, Edo State, which led to the tragic deaths of two farmers.
In a statement, Chris Nehikhare, the Publicity Secretary of the Edo PDP Caretaker Committee, expressed deep sorrow over the killings of Batemue Philip Ebo and Christopher Bello. Reports from DAILY POST indicate that the two men were ambushed and murdered while on their way to their farms.
The PDP strongly denounced the attack, offering condolences to the victims’ families, loved ones, and the entire community during this difficult time.
The party also called on Governor Monday Okpebholo to take immediate and decisive action to address the growing security concerns in the area and prevent further violence.
The statement reads: “We are deeply saddened by the heinous attack on the people of Okpekpe community in Etsako East Local Government by suspected herdsmen, which led to the gruesome murder of two innocent citizens
“We condemn this dastardly act in the strongest terms and send our heartfelt condolences to their families, loved ones, and the entire community during this difficult time,” Nehikhare said.
