The Peoples Democratic Party candidate for the Ondo State governorship election, Agboola Ajayi, has selected Festus Akingbaso as his running mate.
This development was confirmed by the Ondo State PDP Publicity Secretary, Kennedy Peretei, on Sunday evening.
Akingbaso, also known as Fessy West, is a member of the House of Representatives, representing Idanre/Ifedore Constituency, according to Chnnels TV.
He had served in the Ondo State House of Assembly and hails from Idanre in the Idanre Local Government Area of the Ondo Central Senatorial District.
Akingbaso replaces Samuel Ogunmusi, whose name was initially submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission as a placeholder for the deputy governorship slot.
The PDP candidates will contest against incumbent Governor Aiyetidawa in the Ondo 2024 election, scheduled for November this year.
