Following the resignation of former Labor Party campaign council Director General, Doyin Okupe, the party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has announced Akin Osuntokun, as his replacement.
Osuntokun, who is a former aide to ex-President, Olusegun Obasanjo, was announced as the new LP campaign council DG on Tuesday, according to the News Agency of Nigeria.
Recall, that on December 20, following a Federal High Court ruling in Abuja that convicted him of violating money laundering Act, Doing Okupe tendered his resignation to Obi, in a letter, as the party’s campaign DG.
Osuntokun was announced after a strategic meeting, with Obi, members of the National Working Committee and several political candidates of the party, including the National Chairman, Julius Abure.
