The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has vowed that no kidnapper caught in the FCT will be granted bail.
The former Rivers State governor made the vow on Friday at a security town hall meeting at the Abuja Municipal Area Council.
He maintained that any kidnapper caught in the FCT should be punished.
He said, “Gone were the days when kidnappers would be granted bail. I will not allow it again. We will ensure that the kidnapper is punished. How will a kidnapper be granted bail?”
He gave the assurance that the government would do everything to ensure the safety of life and property of the people, as well as equip the security agencies to perform optimally.
He also promised to construct a police station and some access roads, as requested by the council chairman, Christopher Maikalangu.
