The Labour Party presidential candidate in the just-concluded presidential election, Peter Obi, has claimed that the controversial poll was scripted to get a specific outcome.
He claimed that the election cannot be considered credible since it does not meet the necessary criteria. Obi stated these while having a media briefing at the Transcorp Hilton hotel, Abuja.
The former governor of Anambra State, who is now in Abuja speaking at a global news conference, claimed that Nigerians were denied the opportunity to make their actual choice.
He insisted that he would go to court to seek justice and that he was prepared to contest the verdicts.
Obi said, “I will show Nigerians that the Labour party won the election.,” as he reacted to the INEC’s declaration of APC’s Bola Tinubu as the winner of the 2023 presidential elections.
The LP presidential candidate at the conference paid tribute to Nigerians who lost their lives at the Saturday’s presidential elections and also paid a special tribute to young Jennifer who despite getting stabbed still came out to cast her vote in Surulere, Lagos.
He also called on the youths not to despair as the structure of criminality which has held Nigeria backwards cannot be broken in a day. He urged them to be calm as he would walk with them in making Nigeria new.
Obi also went on to take a swipe at the electoral body claiming that the just concluded election fell short of minimum standards and queried what the 300bn that was enmarked for the election went to.
The president-elect wasn’t spared at the conference as Obi took a swipe at him saying that if you want to be addressed as “your excellency” the process to that must be excellent.
While taking questions from journalist who were present at the conference, he called on the obidents and Nigerians to calm and law-abiding, while reiterating that a new Nigeria is possible.
