Ohaneze Ndigbo Youths have revealed how former president Muhammadu Buhari disregarded the Igbos during his tenure.
The youth wing of the apex socio-political group in Igboland stressed that the former president sidelined them in his administration, adding that no region deemed it fit to raise a voice.
This was made known by the National President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide, Mazi Okwu Nnabuike, on Monday.
In a statement, he lamented that the Igbos were unjustly treated, explaining that it was that bad for the former president not to have any Igbo man in his security council for eight years.
He said, “under the government of ex-president Muhammadu Buhari, Ndigbo were treated as pieces of garbage, but no other region raised a voice even in sympathy with us.
“It was such that there was no single Igbo man in Buhari’s security council for eight years, but the entire country moved on as though nothing was wrong with it.”
The youth leader claimed that President Bola Tinubu’s administration has the least of ministers from the South East.
He pledged to support President Tinubu’s government while demanding for the release of detained IPOB leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, additional state to the South-East and extra ministerial slot, according to Daily Post.
“Even under the present government, the South-East has the least number of ministers, and nobody has ever seen anything wrong with it.
“Bola Ahmed Tinubu is our president with whom we are well pleased and we shall keep supporting him,” Okwu declared.
