The National Assembly Service Commission has appointed Andrew Ogbonnaya Nwoba as the new Clerk of the Senate.
The announcement was made in a statement released on Monday by Emmanuel N. Anyigor, Deputy Director of Information, on behalf of the Executive Chairman of the Commission.
The statement confirmed that Nwoba’s appointment will take effect from December 11, 2024, following a decision reached at the Commission’s meeting on December 4, 2024.
Nwoba replaces Chinedu Francis Akubueze as Clerk of the Senate. Before his appointment, Nwoba served as Secretary of the Directorate of Legislative Budget and Planning, bringing extensive experience to his new role.
The NASC also approved a series of other key appointments and redeployments within the National Assembly’s administrative structure.
