Former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo is currently in Paris, France, where he is set to testify before the International Chamber of Commerce regarding an alleged breach of contract by the Federal Government of Nigeria.
The lawsuit, filed by Sunrise Power, accuses the government of violating the terms of the $6 billion Mambilla Power Deal.
In the ongoing arbitration proceedings, both Obasanjo and former President Muhammadu Buhari are expected to serve as witnesses.
According to Daily Trust, the two former leaders are in Paris for the $2.3 billion arbitration process before the ICC.
Obasanjo is scheduled to testify today, January 22, 2025.
However, it remains unclear when Buhari will take the stand as part of the proceedings. Leno Adesanya, the Chairman of Sunrise Power, had previously testified on Tuesday, January 21, 2025.
