The presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, has asked his supporters to allow him to respond to his counterparts.
Obi made the call on his official Twitter handle on Monday while admonishing his ‘Obidient’ movement supporters.
The former Anambra State governor further enjoined his supporters to focus on the cause of moving the country from consumption to production.
This he said following a congratulatory remark to Tobi Amusan, who clinched the record-breaking gold medal at the Women’s World 100-meter race.
Extending his praises to Ese Brume who grabbed a silver in the long jump event at the World Athletes Championship in Oregon, USA, the LP standard-bearer said he’s certain the country is blessed with talents.
According to him, his supporters should seek to create jobs, and generally evolve a better Nigeria as Amusan and Brume had shown on the world stage.
He tweeted, “I most sincerely appreciate all my supporters and those of LP. I love you all. I wish to appeal to you to allow me to personally respond to any CANDIDATE that makes comments about me, while you concentrate on issues to promote our cause of moving our dear Nigeria from consumption to production, create jobs, and generally evolve a better Nigeria
“Following Tobi Amusan’s record-breaking gold, Ese Brume grabs silver in the long jump event at the WAC in Oregon, USA. We’re a great country blessed with talents ready to rule the world. Appropriate leadership is the key. Congratulations, dear Ese.”
