Lagos State Deputy Governor, Obafemi Hamzat, has advised. B Nigerian youths to prioritize informative content and educational resources over “frivolities” like social media.
He emphasized the importance of reading and learning from books, as well as embracing digital technology to drive personal growth, state development, and national progress, according to Peoples Gazette.
Hamzat encouraged youths to harness the power of digitalization to create positive change and tackle complex problems.
He noted that technology has created a global village, offering opportunities for individuals to drive change and development.
The deputy governor stressed that the conventional education system is no longer sufficient, and youths should supplement their learning with practical, informative content.
He urged them to focus on beneficial topics, rather than just consuming entertainment content like TikTok videos and Instagram reels.
“Stop wasting your time on frivolities. Rather, focus on practical things. Always read well-equipped books that can be useful to you and will change your lives for the better, as reading books will keep you informed and more educated,” Mr Hamzat said.
