The Kogi State House of Assembly has approved the 2025 budget proposal amounting to N582,404,119,489.
The lawmakers passed the bill on Tuesday in Lokoja after it was presented by the House Standing Committee on Appropriation, Budget Monitoring, and Economic Planning.
During the clause-by-clause consideration, Speaker Aliyu Yusuf explained that the approved budget includes a recurrent expenditure of over N281,153,215,687 and a capital expenditure of over N301,280,903,802.
Yusuf noted that the budget, which allocates funds to various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies, is set to take effect from January 1, 2025, through December 31, 2025.
He also expressed gratitude to the lawmakers for their diligence in reviewing and approving the budget.
Governor Ahmed Ododo had previously presented the same N582,404,119,489 budget as the 2025 appropriation bill on December 3, seeking the assembly’s approval.
