The ruling All Progressives Congress, has announced the suspension of its campaign for the November 11 Governorship Election in Kogi State.
This was contained in a statement issued by the spokesperson for the State Campaign Council, Mr Kinsley Fanwo, on Tuesday, October 3, 2023.
The suspension came as a mark of respect for a member of the party, Ms Khadijat Yahaya who died after an attack by suspected thugs during a campaign rally in the Kotonkarfe area of the state on September 29, 2023.
Ms Khadijat allegedly lost her life after a disagreement between supporters of the Social Democratic Party and those of the ruling APC, in Kotonkarfe.
However, to condole the family of the deceased, the state APC governorship candidate, Alhaji Usman Ododo, visited the family in Kotonkarfe on Tuesday, to sympathise with them over her demise.
Ododo expressed shock over her demise, while also praying to God for the repose of her soul.
