Governor Dikko Umaru Radda of Katsina State has established a committee to investigate a fire incident that occurred in a part of his office building early Monday morning.
The fire damaged a section of the Governor’s office before being brought under control by firefighters from both federal and state fire departments.
According to Abdullahi Aliyu Yar’adua, the Director of Press to the Secretary to the State Government, “The exact cause of the fire remains unknown.”
The committee, chaired by the Head of Civil Service, has been tasked with: Determining the cause of the fire outbreak;Assessing the extent of the damage;Identifying any factors that led to the incident; Recommending measures to prevent future occurrences; Providing any other relevant suggestions.
The committee includes representatives from various government departments and agencies, as well as experts from the Federal Fire Service. They are expected to submit their findings and recommendations within a week.
Governor Radda expressed confidence in the committee’s ability to conduct a thorough investigation, stating: “I have confidence in the committee’s ability to conduct a thorough investigation and provide valuable insights to prevent similar occurrences in the future.”
