Katsina State Governor, Dikko Radda, has called on newly appointed and reassigned commissioners to focus on the state’s development, urging them to align their efforts with the administration’s “Building Your Future” agenda.
Governor Radda made the statement following a significant reshuffle of the State Executive Council on Monday. According to a release from the Chief Press Secretary, Ibrahim Kaula-Mohammed, the reshuffle aims to enhance performance and improve service delivery in critical sectors.
As part of the reshuffle, Alhaji Malik Anas has been appointed as the Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning. Anas, who holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Bayero University, Kano, brings a wealth of experience in financial management. He previously served as the Katsina State Accountant-General and is a member of several professional organizations, including the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria and the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria. Governor Radda specifically charged Anas with ensuring that the objectives of his ministry are aligned with the administration’s key agenda.
In other changes, Alhaji Bello Kagara, the former Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, has been reassigned to the Ministry of Finance. Alhaji Bashir Tanimu, who previously led the Finance Ministry, will now oversee the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs.
Additional changes include the transfer of Alhaji Yusuf Rabi’u-Jirdede from the Ministry of Special Duties to the Ministry of Commerce, Trade, and Investment. Meanwhile, Alhaji Adnan Nahabu has moved from the Ministry of Commerce, Trade, and Investment to the Ministry of Special Duties.
Governor Radda urged the commissioners to embrace their new roles with commitment and a focus on serving the people of Katsina State. He emphasized the importance of excellent service delivery and called on all commissioners to intensify their efforts for the betterment of the state.
“The governor specifically charged Alhaji Malik Anas to align his Ministry’s objectives with the administration’s ‘Building Your Future’ agenda,” Kaula-Mohammed stated.
” The governor has directed all commissioners to maintain excellent service and intensify their efforts in serving the people of Katsina State,” he added.
