Iranian president’s helicopter crashes during Azerbaijan trip

While visiting Azerbaijan, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi encountered an incident involving the helicopter he was traveling in, as reported by Iran’s semi-official Tasnim news agency on Sunday, according to CNN.

“Some of the president’s companions on this helicopter were able to communicate with Central Headquarters, raising hopes that the incident could have ended without casualties,” the agency stated.

The helicopter was part of a convoy of three, with two others carrying ministers and officials who safely reached their destination.

Tasnim also reported that some of the president’s companions on the helicopter managed to communicate with Central Headquarters, suggesting the possibility of a resolution without casualties. However, the current status of President Raisi’s helicopter remains uncertain.

Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian and Seyyed Mohammad-Ali Al-Hashem, Tabriz’s Friday Prayer Imam, were reportedly aboard the helicopter with the president.
