The leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has issued a stark warning about Nigeria’s economic future. According to Ayodele, the country is poised to experience unprecedented hardship in 2025.
The cleric attributed the impending economic crisis to the government’s failure to address the nation’s problems, according to Daily Post.
He made this known in a statement signed by his media aide, Osho Oluwatosin, on Friday.
He noted that the current suffering of Nigerians would worsen unless drastic measures are taken.
Ayodele specifically highlighted the ineffectiveness of refineries in solving Nigeria’s economic woes, citing frustration as a major obstacle. Furthermore, he predicted skyrocketing commodity prices, with essential items becoming increasingly unaffordable for the average citizen.
The cleric’s warnings come amid growing concerns about Nigeria’s economic trajectory. Experts have consistently emphasized the need for fiscal reforms, monetary policy adjustments, and strategic investments in infrastructure to drive sustainable growth.
Ayodele warned that economic hardship will triple in 2025 unless the government takes corrective action. He also predicted that commodity prices will continue to rise due to systemic issues, and that the government’s inaction will lead to economic blackout.
The cleric’s dire warnings underscore the urgent need for the government to address Nigeria’s economic challenges and work towards sustainable growth. With the country’s economic future hanging in the balance, policymakers must take proactive steps to mitigate the impending crisis.
“As it is now, we will soon buy rice for N150,000 and beans for more than N200,000. The government hasn’t done what they are supposed to do to bring the price of food commodities down.
” People are suffering and haven’t enjoyed this government. Instead it’s still more suffering and agony.
‘’The hardship is coming up and will bite Nigeria hard next year. The government has refused to solve the country’s problems and that’s why the Nigerian economy will fail.
“Refinery will not create anything and foreign exchange will not improve, it will still increase except something is done but I don’t see this government doing anything.’’
He added: ‘’The price of every commodity, kerosene, gas, diesel, etc will continue to be expensive because there is so much rot in the country.
“The government ought to take out some people from this administration, but it’s surprising that the president is comfortable despite the gross irresponsibility in the country.
“Economic hardship will be times three of what we are experiencing now next year; the government must be careful so that the citizens will not revolt. There will be a kind of economic blackout.’’
