A youth group in Niger Delta has called for the full implementation of Niger Delta Development Commission Hope Project in the nine states of the region to ameliorate the present economic hardship.
Spokesman of the group, Niger Delta Youths, Mr. Adokiye Mugeton, who briefed journalists in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, on Tuesday, said: “The youths were hopeful during the commissioning of the hope project by the Managing Director/management team of the board, who within the period of the inauguration assured of the creation of 10,000 employments and other sustainable empowerment for the states inNiger Delta.”
He expressed disappointment that the youths had monitored the consultants handling the projects and to their greatest surprise, the implementation of the NDDC Hope Projects was too slow.
He said, “The youths across Niger Delta had confidence on the Managing Director of NDDC, Dr. Samuel Ogbuke-led board. We regret that they are not living up to the expectations of the people of Niger Delta.”
He called on the management of the commission to ensure that they remove every bureaucracy that may frustrate the smooth implementation of the Hope Projects in line with the blue print as presented earlier.
