The Noble Peace Club of Nigeria has commended the appointment of its Chairman, Board of Trustees, Chinedu Akubueze, as the Chief of Staff to the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, describing the selection as well-deserved.
In a statement, the NPC hailed the appointment as forward-thinking, emphasising that Akubueze has consistently demonstrated exceptional competence in executing the responsibilities of various positions he has held over the years.
The Director General of the African Writers Centre, Amah Amah, also praised Akubueze, noting his unwavering dedication as a public servant.
The statement read, “The newly appointed Chief of Staff to the Senate President has shown loyalty in serving the country as a dedicated and committed public servant, who rose through the ranks to become the Clerk of the Senate. The NPC boss has no doubt that Barr. Akubueze would, as usual, deliver efficiency and positive transformation in his new assignment.
“Other members of the Board of Trustees of the NPC, who were present, took turns to extol the virtues of Barr Akubueze. Among them was Hon. Chief Ochi Tahill, who expressed excitement over the appointment, which he said is to a man whom the cap fits. In his brief remark, ACP Harrison Orurua also congratulated the new Chief of Staff and wished him well in his new assignment, urging him to remain steadfast as a great ambassador of the organisation.
“Affirming that Akubueze is a rare administrator, Osita Opara averred that he has always stood out through dint of commitment to work, focus on tangible goals, and tenacity of purpose. Mr Chuma Ugbo, another trustee of the organisation who also spoke to AWC, described Akubueze as one who is compassionate and derives pleasure in service.
“Ugbo averred that Akubueze is a man of uncommon humility and thoroughness and affirmed that he still has a lot to offer the Federal Republic of Nigeria in service. In his contribution, Darlington Okereke noted that Barr Akubueze is a man of candour and commitment to work, as well as a fine public servant, who had always distinguished himself in any office he served.
“While expressing warm gratitude to the President of the Senate, Chief Dr Godswill Akpabio, for the appointment, the NPC BOT members extolled the uncommon virtues of ingenuity of the Senate President in fixing the round peg in the round hole by appointing Barr Akubueze, who they described further as an experienced administrator.”
Akubueze’s appointment follows the recent elevation of his predecessor, Chief Barr Sylvester Okonkwo, who was named Director of Corporate Services for the South-East Development Commission by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Having recently retired as Clerk of the Senate after reaching the mandatory retirement age of 60 in line with civil service regulations, Akubueze brings a wealth of experience to his new role as Chief of Staff to the Senate President.
