The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, has urged party members in Kano State to unite in the effort to reclaim power from the ruling New Nigeria Peoples Party.
Speaking at the 8th and 9th APC Kano State House of Assembly Forum dinner, held in honor of prominent party figures such as Rt. Hon. Kabiru Rurum, Rt. Hon. Hamisu Chidari, and Rt. Hon. Yusuf Atta, Ganduje, represented by the state APC chairman Abdullahi Abbas, emphasized the necessity of unity for achieving the party’s objectives.
Ganduje stressed that unity was the only path to success and encouraged members to set aside their differences. He pointed out that the current administration in the state was mismanaging affairs, and he expressed confidence that the APC had the potential to regain control with the right focus and collaboration.
“Unity is the only way out for us; it’s the only avenue available for us to have what we want,” he said, adding that God had already intervened for them as the present administration was mismanaging the state”.
Additionally, the party dismissed claims made by NNPP leader Rabiu Kwankwaso regarding his popularity in the state, asserting that his victory was largely due to internal issues within the APC. Ganduje called on his party members to prepare for the challenges ahead and work towards a united front.
The Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development, Yusuf Ata, also urged unity within the party, stating that the APC could easily win the upcoming elections if internal matters were addressed. He emphasized the importance of working together to reclaim Kano, noting that the state was not in good hands under the current leadership.
The Chairman of the Forum, Abdul’azeez Gafasa, congratulated the honorees and reassured attendees that the forum would continue to focus on fostering unity and uplifting its members. The event celebrated the achievements of APC leaders and members who had benefited from federal appointments, while also calling for a collective effort to restore the party’s dominance in Kano State.
Dismissing NNPP leader Rabiu Kwankwaso’s boast about his popularity, he stated, “I can swear to God that if not for our internal issues, he wouldn’t have won any election in the state.” He told members of his party, the APC, to be ready for the task ahead.
Similarly, the Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development, Yusuf Ata, who also urged the party members to unite, observed that the party would easily win the elections if it puts its house in order. “Let’s just pray and forge ahead in unity. We must work towards reclaiming Kano because the state is not in good hands under the current leadership,” he said
