Former Special Assistant on Digital Communication to President Muhammadu Buhari, Bashir Ahmad, has expressed concern over the presence of Russian flags among protesters in Kano State.
Ahmad warned that this development requires close monitoring by authorities and necessary precautions to be taken.
He suggested that the presence of Russian flags may indicate underlying sentiments or influences that need to be assessed and addressed by the government.
Ahmad’s statement comes as protests continue across Nigeria, with demonstrators demanding economic reforms and improved governance.
Ahmad, in a post on his X handle on Saturday, said it’s crucial for authorities to closely monitor the situation and take necessary precautions.
He said: “Russian flags have been seen among protesters in some parts of the country. It’s crucial for authorities to closely monitor the situation and take necessary precautions. This may indicate various underlying sentiments or influences that need to be carefully assessed and addressed by the government.”
