Former Senator representing Bauchi South Senatorial District, Lawal Yahaya Gumau, has passed away at the age of 57.
He died following a brief illness in Abuja.
The death was confirmed by Comrade Haruna Usman Muhammad, a former aide to the late senator, in a conversation with the press on Saturday morning.
Senator Gumau first entered the Senate in 2018, after winning a by-election triggered by the death of Senator Ali Wakili.
