As the race for the 2025 Anambra Governorship election heats up, former All Progressives Congress National Auditor and Pro-Chancellor of Olivia University in Bujumbura, Burundi, Sir Paul Chukwuma, has officially announced his intention to run for the governorship seat.
On Friday, Chukwuma purchased the APC Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja.
His campaign team, led by Director-General Hon. Ifeanyi Ibezi, expressed confidence in Chukwuma’s bid, noting that both the people of Anambra State and APC stakeholders are strongly behind his candidacy.
Speaking to journalists, Ibezi outlined the core focus of Chukwuma’s campaign, which is built on a well-structured three-point agenda known as ‘HIS’. This agenda stands for Human Capital Development, Infrastructure Development, and Security. Ibezi emphasized that Chukwuma is dedicated to transforming Anambra through these key pillars. He further mentioned that after the primaries, Chukwuma would unveil his full manifesto to the people of the state.
Ibezi also highlighted Chukwuma’s extensive political track record, describing him as a founding member of the APC, a former South-East Zonal Youth Leader, and a key figure in strengthening the party’s presence in Anambra and beyond. He added that Chukwuma had played a significant role in the establishment of all 326 ward offices and 21 local government offices across Anambra, and also secured a strategically located state secretariat near the Government House.
With the APC positioning itself as a strong contender in the state, Ibezi expressed optimism that Chukwuma would lead the party to victory in the upcoming election scheduled for November 8, 2025. He stated that Chukwuma possesses the experience, vision, and capacity to lead Anambra to greater development.
Ibezi said: “He is committed to transforming Anambra through these core pillars.
“There are other enabling factors within these key areas, and after the primaries, he will unveil his full manifesto to the people of the state.
” Sir Paul Chukwuma is a party loyalist who has contributed immensely to APC. He facilitated the establishment of all 326 ward offices and 21 local government offices across Anambra and also secured a strategically located state secretariat near the Government House,” Ibezi hinted.
“His major focus is to win and bring development to Anambra. He has the experience, the vision, and the capacity to lead,” he added.
