The lawmaker representing Ekiti SouthWest Constituency 2 at the State House of Assembly, Mr Olatunji Joseph, has described the death of the Speaker of the House, Hon. Funminiyi Afuye, as a great loss to the comity of lawmakers.
Joseph said the leadership style and patriotic services of the deceased would be forever missed, by the Forum of Nigeria Speakers, Ikere-Ekiti people and the South Senatorial District of Ekiti in general.
The All Progressives Congress,(APC) chieftain and the Chairman, House Committee on Youth and Sports Development, stated this in a condolences message signed by himself on Saturday, in Ado-Ekiti.

He explained that the leadership style of the late speaker of the sixth assembly since its inauguration in June 2019 had made the Ekiti legislative arms a pacesetter in the business of lawmaking.
“Late Afuye will be forever missed by all and sundry, particularly in the Ekiti APC family.
“The vacuum left by the late speaker’s sudden death will take longer to be filled,” the lawmaker said.
He further said Afuye was a mentor, teacher, very humble personality too and a fatherly figure to all of us during his lifetime.
He, therefore, commiserated with the Government of Ekiti led by Gov. Biodun Oyebanji, Ikere-Ekiti people, Ekiti South Senatorial District, friends and families of late Afuye.
He prayed that Almighty God grant the comity of Nigeria Speakers Forum, members of the state House of Assembly the fortitude to bear the loss.
