Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, who is also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, will undertake an official visit to Namibia, the Republic of the Congo, Chad, and Nigeria from January 5 to 11.
The visit is at the invitation of the respective governments, as announced by Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning on Friday.
This marks the 35th consecutive year that a Chinese foreign minister has chosen Africa for their first overseas trip of the year, underscoring the importance of China-Africa relations.
