On Children’s Day, President Bola Tinubu took the opportunity to celebrate Nigeria’s youth, emphasizing their pivotal role in the nation’s future by referring to them as the “bearers of the nation’s torch into the future.”
Through a statement released by his media aide, Chief Ajuri Ngelale, President Tinubu conveyed his heartfelt congratulations to parents and highlighted the critical importance of reinforcing family units.
President Tinubu underscored the family as the bedrock of society, where children are instilled with fundamental values such as honesty, hard work, and charity. He noted, “society reflects the collective values of individual families” and called for the preservation of these principles to build a “wholesome, nurturing, and thriving nation.”
The president also assured the public of his administration’s dedication to laying a robust foundation for the future success of Nigerian children. This commitment includes increased investments in education and overhauling the current education system.
He pointed out that the National Commission for Almajiri and Out-of-School Children Education is actively working to remove children from the streets and integrate them into schools, ensuring they receive proper education.
