The opposition lawmakers had agreed to a six-week ultimatum for the President to address the current spate of insecurity or get impeached.
Buhari’s spokesman, Garba Shehu, described the move by the senators as a bravado that won’t see the light of the day.
The President, it was learnt, subsequently, summoned an emergency meeting of the National Security Council for today.
The country is currently plagued with insecurity and fears have spread across the land wth a recent security report by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps revealing that there are strong indications that two terrorist groups, the Islamic State West Africa Province and Boko Haram are planning to attack Lagos, Kaduna and other states.
