Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has appointed Aminu Hammayo as the new Secretary to the State Government.
The appointment was announced in a statement issued on Friday.
According to the statement, Hammayo replaces Ibrahim Kashim, who resigned from the position on December 13. The governor described Hammayo as a seasoned administrator and public servant, noting his distinguished service to Bauchi in various roles. Hammayo had previously served as the SSG and was, until his recent appointment, the Commissioner for Budget and Multilateral Coordination.
In addition, Governor Mohammed approved the appointment of Hashimu Kumbala as his Principal Private Secretary.
Kumbala, a retired permanent secretary, had been serving as the Special Adviser to the Governor on General Services before his new appointment. In his new role, Kumbala will provide critical administrative and advisory support to the governor, ensuring effective communication and coordination within the government.
The statement emphasized that these appointments demonstrate Governor Mohammed’s commitment to effective governance and his vision for a more inclusive and progressive administration.
“He was a one-time SSG, and until his new appointment, he was the commissioner for budget and multilateral coordination.
” He was a retired permanent secretary, and until his new appointment, he was the special adviser to the governor on general services,” the statement added.
