Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has dismissed five commissioners from his cabinet as part of a strategic move to reconstitute and strengthen the administration.
The reshuffle, aimed at enhancing governance and improving service delivery in the state, was announced through a press statement issued by the Governor’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Comrade Mukhtar Gidado, on Tuesday.
The statement outlined that the decision to relieve the commissioners of their duties reflects the Governor’s commitment to infusing new energy and ideas into the administration. It further emphasized that the reshuffling aligns with the Governor’s vision to optimize government operations and effectively tackle emerging challenges in Bauchi State.
The commissioners affected by the change are Dr. Jamila Dahiru (Education), Barr. Abubakar Abdulhameed Bununu (Internal Security and Home Affairs), Comrade Usman Danturaki (Information and Communication), Professor Simon Madugu Yalams (Agriculture), and Alhaji Yakubu Ibrahim Hamza (Religious Affairs and Societal Reorientation).
Governor Mohammed expressed his deep gratitude to the outgoing commissioners, acknowledging their significant contributions to the growth and development of Bauchi State. He commended their dedication and hard work, noting that they had played vital roles in advancing key government initiatives.
The Governor also conveyed his best wishes to the former commissioners for success in their future endeavors, expressing confidence that their continued contributions would benefit both Bauchi State and the nation.
As part of the cabinet restructuring, Governor Mohammed has submitted a list of individuals for security clearance and subsequent confirmation by the Bauchi State House of Assembly to fill the vacant positions. The nominees include Hon. Isa Babayo Tilde (Toro Local Government), Abdullahi Mohammed (Misau Local Government), Dr. Bala Musa Lukshi (Dass Local Government), Usman Usman Shehu (Shira Local Government), Iliyasu Aliyu Gital (Tafawa Balewa Local Government), Prof. Titus Saul Ketkukah (Tafawa Balewa Local Government), Hon. Adamu Babayo Gabarin (Darazo Local Government), and Dr. Mohammed Lawal Rimin Zayam (Toro Local Government).
