Ayu’s removal as PDP national chairman in motion – Chieftain

'Why Ayu'll be probe for N1bn housing allowance'

PDP National Chairman, Dr Iyorchia Ayu

A Peoples Democratic Party chieftain in Edo State, Kassim Afegbua, has said the removal process of the party’s national chairman, Iyorchia Ayu, is in motion.

Afegbua made this known Friday on a TVC programme.

According to him, the choice of Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa, as the running of the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, was a wrong move.

Afegbua said, “Well, talking about the PDP as the largest opposition and all of that, I think the part presently under the leadership of the Iyorchia Ayu is in disarray.

“Just a few days ago, you had the NWC in a news item that Iyorchia Ayu has been removed and all of that, of course, turned out to be fake news but I can tell you categorically that such movements are in place because the fact that the chairman board of trustees is from the North, the Chairman of the party is from the North, the candidate of the party is from the North.

“So, you can’t have three dominant positions in the North, where you have 8 governors of the party from the south and 5 governors in the North. So, PDP is better served in the South-South region where they have solid governors of PDP, so the leadership of the party must come to the South if they want to balance.”
